Please read these terms carefully before using SafeAlerts services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the SafeAlerts platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, officers, and others who access or use the Service.
SafeAlerts reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
2. Description of Services
SafeAlerts is a community-driven platform designed to assist in finding missing persons in Bangladesh. Our services include:
- A publicly accessible database of missing persons reports
- A trained volunteer search team network
- Face-matching technology to identify potential matches
- Paid professional search services
- Community donation and funding mechanisms
- ID management for verified officers
SafeAlerts is a supplementary service and does not replace official law enforcement or emergency services. In any emergency, please contact the Bangladesh Police (999) immediately.
3. User Accounts & Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration
- Maintain the security of your account password
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account use
- Be at least 16 years of age to register
We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our sole discretion.
4. User Conduct & Responsibilities
You agree NOT to:
- Submit false or misleading missing person reports
- Upload photos or information of persons without proper authorization
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users or family members
- Use the platform for commercial solicitation or spam
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the platform
- Impersonate law enforcement, government officials, or SafeAlerts staff
- Use automated scripts or bots without written permission
- Share contact information of missing persons for any unauthorized purpose
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.
5. Content Guidelines
When submitting reports, photos, or any content to SafeAlerts, you:
- Confirm that you have the right to submit the information
- Grant SafeAlerts a non-exclusive license to display the content for the purpose of finding the missing person
- Understand that the information may be shared publicly
- Agree to promptly update or remove information when a person is found
- Are responsible for the accuracy of all submitted content
SafeAlerts reserves the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines or is deemed inappropriate.
6. Search Officership
SafeAlerts officers are volunteers subject to additional terms:
- Team membership is subject to approval and background verification at admin discretion
- Members must maintain confidentiality of case details and personal information
- Members are NOT employees of SafeAlerts and do not receive compensation for search activities
- Members must adhere to the rank hierarchy and follow instructions from senior officers
- Misuse of team rank, badge, or ID card is strictly prohibited
- ID cards are issued for official purposes only and must not be transferred to third parties
- One free ID card download per year; subsequent downloads require a ৳250 fee
- Members may be suspended or removed for misconduct at admin discretion
7. Payments & Donations
Regarding financial transactions on SafeAlerts:
- All payments are processed through third-party mobile banking (bKash, Nagad, Rocket, uPay)
- Payment verification may take up to 24-48 hours
- Donations are used to fund search operations and platform maintenance
- Paid search fees (৳500) are non-refundable once the search team is assigned
- SafeAlerts does not store payment card or mobile banking account details
- Fraudulent transaction IDs will result in immediate account suspension
- Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis within 7 days
8. Privacy & Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your data.
- Personal data is collected solely for the purpose of finding missing persons
- We do not sell personal data to third parties
- Public reports are visible to all users; contact details are only visible to logged-in users
9. Limitation of Liability
SafeAlerts provides this platform on an "as is" basis. We make no warranties regarding:
- The accuracy or completeness of missing person information
- The availability or uninterrupted operation of the Service
- The outcome of any search operations
- The accuracy of our face-matching technology (for guidance only; not forensic evidence)
SafeAlerts shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the preceding 3 months.
10. Termination
SafeAlerts may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon termination:
- Your active reports will remain visible unless manually removed
- Team member ID cards and ranks are revoked immediately
- Pending payments will be processed before account closure
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
